Easy hike with swimming opportunities

Hiking and swimming tour to Jochberg and Weitsee

This varied circular hike starts in the center of Reit im Winkl and leads along shady forest paths and scenic alpine pastures up to the Jochberg summit. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the valley—and on the descent, the crystal-clear Weitsee lake awaits you for a refreshing dip. The approximately 4.5-hour tour with an elevation gain of about 550 meters combines mountain adventure and swimming fun – ideal for warm summer and autumn days.

To the Winklmoosalm – across alpine pastures and altitude meters

A true classic among the alpine hikes in Reit im Winkl: in about three hours, the trail leads steadily uphill from the village along forest paths and meadows to the popular Winklmoosalm. Once at the top, hikers can enjoy impressive views of the Chiemgau Alps and several rustic places to stop for refreshments. Those who wish can take the hiking bus back down – perfect for families and those who like to take it easy.

Panoramic hike with summit views

Dürrnbachhorn – High-altitude trail with views

This panoramic circular hike begins at the mountain station of the nostalgic Winklmoosalm chairlift and can be easily completed in around two hours. The trail runs at an altitude of over 1,600 meters along a ridge with panoramic views of the Salzburg countryside and the surrounding mountains. The approximately 250 meters of elevation gain are easy to master with surefootedness—a real highlight for leisure hikers who want to breathe in the alpine air.
